Gov. Students Help at Center for the Arts

Seniors in government at Homer High School complete several hours of community service as part of the course requirements.  On March 15, 2014, several of these students completed some of these hours at Homer's Center for the Arts event: "A Night at the Opera" featuring three professional opera singers from Binghamton's Tri Cities Opera company performing arias from various operas. The center's director, Daniel Hayes, and the caterer, Randy Lewis of Linani's, requested student help from one of Homer's government teachers, Joe Cortese.  The students spent their time setting up, serving and clearing tables, and helping in the kitchen.  They not only earned credit for their community service project, but they enjoyed a delicious gourmet meal as well!

Students who participated are (left to right, rear):
Jake Elkins, Peter Hartsock, Thomas Natale, Brandon Austin, Zack Crawford, Kailee Dimorier, Meghan Dieroff, Hannah Agate, Jordan Green, and Will Loiselle; front: Brent Bishop, Dan L'Hommedieu, Cody Hubert, and Josh Stevens
